Contemporary dance and Improvisation
I am a trained contemporary dancer with many years of experience. I am passionate about teaching contemporary dance classes. I believe that technique and improvisational tools are equally important for a holistically trained body. Therefore, my classes usually include both.
Depending on the group and the setting of the event, it is always possible to give a workshop that focuses only on technique or improvisation.
Circle Dances
Dancing brings people together and is an important part of many cultures. During my studies in Music and Movement, I had the opportunity to explore a variety of folk dances, which I found to be a source of great enjoyment. I am eager to share these dances with others and to facilitate their appreciation and understanding of the rich cultural heritage embodied within them. Through my love for Balfolk I also mix in couple dances and line dances. My vision is to place the dances in their cultural context as well as to add my own touch.
Rhythmics
As a trained music and movement teacher, I also offer after-school rhythmics classes for children, teens and adults. In Rhythmics we explore movement, voice and body sounds in a conscious and playful way. Using song material from different cultures, accompanied by small percussion instruments and body percussion, we experience rhythm and polyphony in the group.
