Real Love

Choreography: Music Video

Real love

Coco Elane, a non-binary musician who describes their music as genre-fluid groove pop, collaborated with Antonia as choreographer to create the music video for Real Love. Working closely with the artist and the creative director, they created scenes of movement and dance as well as scenes of stillness and serenity. The video for Real Love is the result of one day of rehearsals and one day of shooting with a mixed team of professionals and non-professionals.

Madama Butterfly

Nullam eget molestie risus

Menodramma_dry is loosely inspired by Madama Butterfly, an opera from Puccini. Giovanni DiCicco takes the public on a journey of distorted choreo-drama from which emerges an inner landscape marked by discomfort and morbidity. Like in a Japanese manga, where you read from the last to the first page, the dances have a disoriented character and a porous structure. The eyes wander freely through the pages of chaotic body lines, choosing their own order of reading and the images to dwell on, catching some details without analysis. Madama Butterfly, the Japanese Geisha appears and disappears, almost imperceptible and creeps in to the mind like the traces of a dream.

Performance
`Join the Dots`

Join the Dots is an autobiographical musical dance theater piece about the vulnerable period between adolescence and adulthood. Through movement, storytelling, spoken word and music (live and recorded), a series of short scenes unfold. These scenes deal with specific experiences from the teenage years. The two performers dive into the joy of ecstasy and strong friendship, the darkness of deep self-doupts, bullying and arguments with parents, values and sometimes the whole world. Yet they never lose a certain sense of comedy.
What was the meaning of the events they experienced as young people? What did it mean then? What does it mean today? How are these experiences and memories stored in the body? Do they ever go away? If so, how can they be transformed?

Together with violinist Nathan Kirzon, Antonia set out to express the theme of connection through dance and music.
Inspired and guided by the cycle of life: childhood, youth and adulthood, the result was Verbundenheit, a three-part movement for violin, percussion and double bass.
In the interaction between Nathan as a musician and composer and Antonia as a dancer, dance and music grew in close interaction, forming and breaking with each other. The joint process of music and dance was always in the foreground.
